Make A Bird Feed Wreath

Hello friends!

Who needs a nature craft today? You probably have all the supplies at home and if you like inviting all the wild critters to your yard, here you go!

Let’s just say I’m partial to birds but I tolerate squirrels. Our silly squirrels taunt Maya so we think it’s fun to watch them tease her. Can you imagine what the squirrels are saying about her in their chipmunk voices as she runs the exact same route every single time?

Here are some things I gathered in the photo above.

Let me show you how cute this little yummy invitation wreath turns out.

Here is what I used.

Supplies: A thrifted round basket or twig wreath as the base. Mini peat or terracotta pots, floral wire, peanut butter or syrup, bird seed, cranberries & sunflower seeds. Pinecones & green moss, gathered or purchased. 1 wire wreath form (optional if using a basket).

I hung my base/basket on an S hook bar so I could reach the back easily. I moved it to the table once that part was finished.

Attach pinecones by wrapping them once around and then through the twig or basket weave. The pots need a little hole for the wire so peat pots are the easiest. Fasten by wiring them to the base any way you like: full or partial, all around or just the bottom.

Attach the pines to the wreath floral wire.

This wreath will not last long, depending how close to nature you are. My natural yard cuties ate this one in just one day. Attaching a wire wreath form over top will preserve it a little longer.

Pure enjoyment!

I saved all the moss and the base to freshen up the food for another day.

This craft would be fun for kids to do but also for older people who can’t leave home. The animals will keep them giggling.

Invite little critters to your yard for enjoyment with a bird feed wreath.

The green moss made this one extra bright but you can use Spanish moss too. The animals don’t care either way. (to be honest, I put too much moss on this one. The squirrels were destructive with it right away.

Remind me of this craft for fall when it starts getting cold again. Lots to forage that time of year.

Let me know if you make one. You can tag us on IG and FB.

Thanks for being here.
